Free Product Coupons

November 13th, 2009

Sometimes pleasant surprises come in the mail in the form of free product coupons. This week I received 3 free product coupons for PC Smokin’ Stampede Pork Back Ribs, cheddar cheese and PC Orange Juice.

I was wondering why the SuperStore would send these coupons for no apparent reason, but then I read their little message. It was to compensate shoppers for their inconvenience while they were renovating. I wasn’t inconvenienced at all but it was a really a nice gesture on their part, especially since the coupons are for quality products. They didn’t have to do it, but from my point of view, this is one of the best ways to market a store or bunch of products plus keep your customers loyal and happy at the same time.

Now I only wish the big banks would do these nice little things for their customers instead of lining their employees’ pockets with fat bonus checks!!! What has your big bank done for you lately?

Free Product Samples Received

March 13th, 2009

I thought my free product samples that I ordered from P&G a couple of months ago would never be sent, but I received them today. It took a long time, but they arrived and I am impressed with the sample package sent. There is a lot in the amount of the shampoos and the conditioner sent. This way you can try it for a few days to see if you like it.

I also received their Gillette Fusion razor with shaver and and cartridge. I’ll try the razor. If I like it, all I have to do is purchase more shaver cartridges in the future. It saved me a few bucks on a new non-disposable shaver!

I think this is a fantastic way for P&G to promote their products from already interested consumers. If you are looking for P&G’s website info, click here.

Ways To Save Money Today

February 17th, 2009

With most countries experiencing an economic recession at the moment, it’s important that you find new and innovative ways to save money. Basically you need to be able to stretch your dollar’s value even further. This can be done with a little research and knowledge about the laws in your area and the various policies stores have to maintain and increase their customer base. In this article, I’m going to show you some ways and tips on saving money.

Research Product Prices

The best way to compare product prices is by using the Internet. There are countless websites that allow you to view and compare product pricing and savings. What I suggest is that you use local sites.

For example, Canadians may want to use RedFlagDeals.com. Using their search function, find the product that you are searching for and the prices at various stores. Write down the store and the price. If the store is too far and not worth your gas or time or you don’t want to order it online, check the pricing on the Internet at the store you usually shop at. If the price is more at your favorite store, you can advise their customer service about the price. In most cases, they will match the price and give you 10% of the difference in the price.

In some cases, the customer service rep may not know of the store offering the better deal. Ask them to check the store’s website. This is where your selling, bargaining skills come into play. You are now trying to sell the salesperson your better deal.

This approach involves a little bit of research but if you research the product carefully, you can save quite a bit of money.

Know Your Store’s Policies and Consumer Laws

Sometimes stores have a policy that if the price on the shelf is lower than in the computer on check-out, you receive the product for free up to a maximum value of say $10. This particularly happens for items on sale. Sometimes the computer does not get updated.

Some stores tend to have difficulty in updating their systems correctly and in a timely fashion for the new prices. Therefore it’s a good idea to check store prices as you are shopping or check the flyer for sales and then check your grocery receipt. If the prices differ in your favor, you can mention it to the cashier or go back to the store the next time you are there with your proof. You’ll either get your product free or a refund.

Sometimes there are stores that have in-stock guarantees like for inkjet cartridges and toners. If the product is not in stock, they will give you a coupon for say $10 off your next ink cartridge purchase. If they don’t, email the company’s head office and they’ll make sure you get it!

In some places, such store polices can be the law. Therefore it’s good to know and ask about a store’s policy because it can work in your favor.

Of course there are many other ways for you to save money. You can read more about them here at my website IWantSwag.com. These are just three ways, that you may not know about, that can save you money today.

Free New Product Samples

January 17th, 2009

These days I find that I rarely automatically receive samples of new products in the mail. It’s probably because it’s become too expensive to blitz entire neighborhoods with new product sample promotions via the mail.

Have you ever purchased a product like shampoo, razor, facial wash, toothpaste or any other beauty or everyday product that you ended up not liking? Wouldn’t it be nice to try a sample of every new product before you buy it? I have purchased many types of new products or products that I currently use that have been changed or modified that I ended up not liking. I have considered returning them, but for a few dollars, it’s just not worth my time or effort.

Today, I came across a website where you can sign up and request multiple free product samples which come in reasonable sizes that you can try before you buy. It’s from Proctor and Gamble (P&G). It’s actually a great idea because you can choose to receive multiple product samples from one convenient website and the quantity sizes are very reasonable and large. So you can try them for at lease a couple of days to decide whether or not you like the product.

What I like about this site is that you will also receive free samples of upcoming new products or at least be made aware of them. So check out the free P&G brand sampler websites here:

Canadian website

I think this website is a fabulous idea from P&G!

Save Money at Grocery Stores

December 22nd, 2008

During the holiday season and sometimes during the rest of the year, grocery stores offer extra points when you purchase their store brand products. By accumulating these points, you can save extra money. Let me explain what I mean using a real-life example.

In Canada, Loblaw Company operates large grocery stores and Superstores. Their product brand goes by the name of President Choice products which are as good or better than brand-name products, and usually at a lower price. During the Christmas holiday season, they have a “3 times the points”  on their President Choice products. So if you buy a product that costs say $2.99, normally you get aproximately 30 points, but during the promotion period you end up receiving 90 points. That’s a lot of extra points that you can be receiving and later redeemable for free groceries.

So my point is, when you see such promotions, if you like the product, buy it over the brand name and you’ll save in the long-run. Sometimes it makes sense to stockpile a product or buy a few extra weeks of product if you can.

Free TV Shows and Movies

December 13th, 2008

There are a lot of Internet sites that show free movies and TV shows on the Internet. Don’t you hate it when you forget to record your favorite TV show or a movie on TV? I’ve done that many times. I’ve tried finding particular TV shows on the Internet to watch, but I find that many sites are just terrible! Either they lack content or the quality is poor, especially when you try to watch it in full-screen.

I have found one site that I like and that I would recommend called Surf the Channel. It has full episodes of all your favorite TV shows with episodes going back many years. The quality is very good and you can watch it in full screen.

The movie selection is excellent but some movies are not the full versions. So check the time on each before you watch.

Cash and Prizes for Market Research

December 12th, 2008

Market research companies want to know what people think about their client’s products and their newly created commercials. Many people sign up to be part of and get paid for these market research studies. In the past, it meant that you actually had to go to an office. The extra cash was pretty good, depending on the company being researched, but it involved a lot of time to actually have to travel there and wait.

Now, many market research firms are paying you and offering you points to fill out surveys online. It usually only take about 5 to 15 minutes of your time and you can do these surveys in your free time or at work, as long as it is done before a deadline date and time. Not a bad deal to add a few bucks in your pocket without having to leave your computer.

Opinion Square
is one online company that does this. It provides its members many benefits when they sign up for their survey panel, ranging from enrollment in their OpinionRewards points program to entries into their $100,000 sweepstakes. Unfortunately, it’s only available to US residents.

Save Money and Lose Weight

December 10th, 2008

It’s a known fact that people gain weight during the holiday season. If a person is overweight to begin with, by the time the holidays are over, they will have put on a few extra pounds. In the long-term these extra pounds may be very hard to lose!

I have found a way to help you lose those extra pounds. Right now if you purchase a 4 months supply of the clinically proven product Proactol, you will receive $25 off! All you have to do is use the e-voucher code PRXMAS on the order page. You can read more about this product extensively on the Proactol website. Unfortunately, this offer is only available for a limited time.

Buy Products with Attached Coupons

December 8th, 2008

One great way to save money is to buy products with attached coupons. Now you’re obviously not going to go out and buy a product just to get the coupon. What you will be doing is buying the brand of product that will offer you an added benefit like a money-saving coupon or a free product offer. This coupon can be used towards the price reduction of a future similar purchase or the purchase of a different yet complimentary product.

Let’s take an example that I like. I like to buy healthy cereals. There’s one in particular that offers a cut-out coupon for fat-free yoghurt. So what I like to do is buy several boxes of this product so that I can have the chance to redeem these coupons for several free packages of this yoghurt. If you buy yoghurt on a weekly basis, this is money in your pocket! You’re looking at a product with a value just over $3. If not, it’s a free and healthy food alternative for you.

So when you go shopping, you may want to take a closer look at what extra money-saving opportunities a particular product brand may offer over its competition.
